Remote Medicine – Registrar/GP – Australia – 90201

Reference No: 90201
Specialty: Remote Medicine - Indigenous Health
Grade: Registrar / GP
Location: Australia
Length of post: long-term
Description:

90201. See also our GP Jobs in Australia website to find out more information:   www.gpjobsinaustralia.co.uk

We are recruiting Senior Medical Officers to work in Remote Medicine Indigenous Health in remote areas of Australia.  These vacancies would ideally suit GPs with “non standard” experience or with extensive hospital experience.  The primary role is to prepare acute cases for transfer to hospital and also provide support for community nurses.

Because of the remote location, doctors can opt to work one week on/one off based in Alice Springs, or one month on/one off or three months on/three months off and work in another location the rest of the time.  The salary plus benefits is around $AUS 180,000 and also includes a number of tax and cash incentives to support the doctor going into this remote location.

General Information

The vacancies are open to doctors who have completed their specialisations and are fellows of the appropriate Royal College (or equivalent if not UK based):

a.  UK / Irish trained specialists;
b.  Specialists who didn’t train in the UK but who have worked in the UK for at least five years and who are fellows of the appropriate Royal college;
c.  Canadian, USA, New Zealand, Singapore, South African nationals who trained and currently work in their home country;
d.  Belgian, Dutch and Scandinavian nationals who trained in their home country and currently work either in their home country or elsewhere in the EU.

We can advise on registration with the Australian Medical Council as our colleague in Australia has direct connections with the various Australian Colleges and the AMC.  Once you’ve sent your CV to us, we’ll advise on registration and the likely jobs. If this is all OK, we’ll then help you through the registration process, assist with your AMC application as needed, setting up interviews then helping with immigration and the move to your new job.

Please see Candidates page for more information.
