A range of opportunities exist for senior registrars to work for 6-12 months in a retrieval service for remote Australia.  These are suitable for doctors currently part of a UK or Irish specialist training program and many of these positions will be accredited and count towards training in your specialty.  Typically these services operate to provide emergency care to Australians in remote areas.  There is a very attractive salary plus benefits of between $AUS 120-150,000 dependent on experience.

General Information

The vacancies are open to doctors who have completed their specialisations and are fellows of the appropriate Royal College (or equivalent if not UK based):

a.  UK / Irish trained specialists;
b.  Specialists who didn’t train in the UK but who have worked in the UK for at least five years and who are fellows of the appropriate Royal college;
c.  Canadian, USA, New Zealand, Singapore, South African nationals who trained and currently work in their home country;
d.  Belgian, Dutch and Scandinavian nationals who trained in their home country and currently work either in their home country or elsewhere in the EU.

We can advise on registration with the Australian Medical Council as our colleague in Australia has direct connections with the various Australian Colleges and the AMC.  Once you’ve sent your CV to us, we’ll advise on registration and the likely jobs. If this is all OK, we’ll then help you through the registration process, assist with your AMC application as needed, setting up interviews then helping with immigration and the move to your new job.
