Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon required for a polyclinic in the North West of England. This post is with a mobile clinical assessment unit. The objective is to provide additional specialised primary healthcare to NHS patients, thus reducing local waiting lists. The clinics are open 12 hours per day / 7 days per week and so there are opportunities for both part time and full time jobs. Part time work is paid by each 4 hour session (minimum of 2 per week). Full time is salaried. The scope of work will include paper clinical triage of referrals from GPs, face to face clinical assessment of patients, treatment planning and onwards referral to secondary care if indicated. Minor procedures suitable for an out patient clean room environment as per HCC guidance will be performed.This may include for example: Podiatry procedures including removal of toenails, Injection of joints, Aspiration of knee/joints

General Information

Some UK experience is essential, preferably at consultant level. However, our client will consider doctors who’ve worked at consultant level overseas and at middle grade in the UK.

All doctors need to have full GMC registration (and usually specialist registration for a consultant level post) before the hospital will interview you. You will also need fluent English. Please see
