Paediatrics – Middle Grade – Ireland

Reference No: 90099
Specialty: Paediatrics
Grade: Middle Grade
Location: Ireland
Length of post: From July 1st - long term
Description:

We have the following doctors jobs in Ireland:

Anaesthetics (middle grade)
Accident & Emergency (middle grade)
General Surgery (SHO)
General Medicine (SHO)
Paediatrics (middle grade)
Trauma & Orthopaedics (SHO)

The start date for these posts is flexible  but typically in the second half of 2010.

General information:

Our vacancies are full time and they will give you an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical career in Ireland.  They are based on filling long term vacancies within particular Irish hospitals and they offer excellent opportunities for additional training and development.  The client will consider applicants who haven’t worked in the UK or Ireland before.

Our client will employ you full time on a fixed term contract of up to 1 to 2 years and they will offer you considerable support, training and professional development.

Salaries are at standard rates, based on  how many years of experience you’ve got. You’ll also get paid overtime. This means that you will receive the same pay as other doctors at a similar level employed by the hospital. We can give you a guide as to the likely salary but the actual amount they will offer you will be decided after the interview.  As a guide, salaries look to be at least as good if not better than the UK – plus the cost of living (particularly housing) is lower. All doctors will need to have fluent English. You will also need full IMC registration before you start work. However, our client will interview you before you apply so that you only need to pay for registration once you have a firm offer. We will assist you with the paperwork required. For EU nationals, IMC registration requires the same paperwork as GMC registration. Non-EU nationals will also be considered for these posts – please note though that the IMC has specific conditions for non-EU doctors covering both your clinical skills and language (IELTS at 7.5 is required). There is more information here on the IMC registration: http://www.medicalcouncil.ie/Registration/What-division-am-I-eligible-to-be-registered-in-/

On the plus side, SHO and middle grade doctors who have a job offer and IMC registration no longer need work permits or visas – so once you’ve got IMC registration coming to work in Ireland is easy.
